Veedersburg - Virgil O. Pyle, 88, of Veedersburg died at 7:30 p.m. Monday in his home. He moved to V eedersburg in 1983 from Wallace. He had been a farmer in Cain Township, Fountain County most of his life. He was a member of New Liberty Church near Hillsboro, Veedersburg Lions Club, Wallace Low 12 and a 50-year member of the Wallace Masonic Lodge. He was an Army veteran serving in WWI. Mr. Pyle was born in Glasgow, Kentucky, on Feb 18, 1899, to James G. and Gillie Smith Pyle. He was married April 1, 1921 to Vera Sanders. She preceded him in death Feb 8, 1972. He is survived by a son, Dale of Rt 2, Veedersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Ura Leslie (Sandra) Miller of Bainbridge, Ga; a sister, Jewell Grimes of Wallace; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A brother and sister are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Henry Stidham officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
